Homemade and simple recipe of French Bread๐Ÿž


FRENCH CLASSIC BREAD

 "baking bread at home was never so easy until I baked my first bread"


  • French bread, also known as "baguette" in French
  •                 
  • It is generally a thin loaf of bread with the basic dough

  • Hard and crunchy from outside, soft and spongy from inside

  • 1 m long and about 5 to 6 cm in diameter

  • Various dishes in which baguette can be used are, French onion soup, tomato bruschetta, French bread pizza and many more

Simple and easy recipe of french bread-

Prep time- 10 mins 
 Cook time- 25 mins 
 Additional time-2 hrs
Yields- 1 big loaf 
  Total time- 2hrs 35 mins


INGREDIENTS---
  • 125-150 ml lukewarm water
  • 10 gm sugar
  • 5 gm dry yeast
  • 50 ml warm milk
  • 5 gm salt
  • 10 to 15 gm butter/oil
  • 250 gm all-purpose flour


METHOD---

  1. In a bowl add yeast, sugar and milk. Stir a little and let them sit for 15 mins.
  2. Take the flour and sieve it in a bowl and then add salt.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour and mix them together.
  4. Add water occasionally.
  5. Knead the dough until it becomes soft and elastic.
  6. Now allow the dough for proofing (rising) for about 45 mins.
  7. Again knead the dough try to take out all the air.
  8. While kneading add butter and make a soft dough.
  9. Now shape the dough as shown in the picture and dust some flour over it.
  10. Make slant cuts on the top using a blade or a sharp knife.
  11. Now proof it again for about 30 mins( you can also make cuts after the second proofing)
  12. Pre-heat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for about 10 mins.
  13. Bake for about 25-30 mins at 180 degrees Celsius until golden brown in color.
  14. Remove from the oven and glace it with butter. (optional)
